Now, lets get into today’s post, how I went from 0-1000 page views in less than 30 days after starting my blog.

To find this out, we need to look at where the traffic came from. As you can see from the graphs below, the majority of my traffic comes from Social Media, in particular Pinterest. The reason why is because Pinterest is my most used social media platform because of the traffic potential that it holds.

By using Pinterest, it really helped me to get this initial traffic to my website and start exposing my new website to the search engines and people that will be interested in my content.

I am sure you have heard many many other bloggers talk about how amazing Pinterest is for getting traffic and I can assure you, it really is! Out of other platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, it is so so far ahead in terms of its traffic driving capabilities, and that is because it is a search engine, just like Google or Bing.

As Pinterest is what I used to get over 1000 page views in less than 30 days, I shall be teaching you exactly how you can do the same.

> Pinterest Is A Search Engine

It is important to know that Pinterest is a search engine and not a social media network. This means that keywords and descriptions really do play a huge role in your success with Pinterest.

I have gone ahead and created a list of ways you can use keywords on Pinterest:

  • In your profile name

  • Your profile description

  • Pin Descriptions

  • Board Titles

  • Board Descriptions

  • Comments on your pins

  •  The Filenames of your images

I made sure that from when I opened my Pinterest account (and I started my Pinterest account the same day I started my website), I was using relevant keywords for all areas that were available. Keywords really do make a difference.

Once you optimise these areas of your Pinterest, you will start to become a lot more visible on the platform. Your pins will rank better in searches, allowing more users to come across your content and re-pin it. But, most importantly, click your pins link, taking traffic straight to your website.

> You need a proper pinning strategy

Without a proper pinning strategy, you are setting yourself up for failure. Pinterest is very much about consistency and rewards users who pin on a regular basis and also pin effectively.

There are two pinning strategies you can choose- manual pinning or automatic pinning.

Manual pinning, as the name suggests, means you upload all your pins as and when they need to go out and you also pin other peoples pins manually aswell. This is a time consuming process and can take hours out of your day. The majority of us live busy lives so automatic pinning is the easiest and most time effective strategy.

Automatic pinning is when you use a platform that will schedule your pins to publish and certain times throughout the day. By using automatic pinning, you can take your time spent on manual pinning and reduce it from a few hours a day, to a few hours a week.

The best pin scheduler currently available is called Tailwind. It is a approved by Pinterest themselves and is famous for its ability to generate incredible results for people, but optimising pin scheduling and allowing people to schedule 100s of pins per day very easily.

Tailwind currently offer a FREE TRIAL service where you can try it out for yourselves. I highly recommend at least signing up and giving it a go. It will really help you with taking your Pinterest game to the next level. It is a big part of the reason why I was able to get such quick results for my blog.

> Aim For Viral/Popular Pins!

One of my pins that links to my popular blog post *insert content batching title* managed to get some viral traction which resulted to me getting a nice spike in traffic and page views.

You can see this from the graph below and the results that it achieved. The pin has been saved over 150 times, achieved over 8k impressions and and had 92 clicks to my website, resulting in over 50 site visits and over 170 page views, all in a single day! Now, my daily visits are averaging at 20 per day, as appose to 2-3 before that pin went viral.

Now, there are bloggers that achieve way more saves and link clicks from there pins, but for a new blog and website that is less than 30 days old, these results are great! And I am very happy with them.

There is really is not much else to it! If you do all the things that I mentioned, show up on Pinterest every day and put in the work, you will see results. I put in the work and was able to reap the benefits of my labour.

Also, if you think you need to have loads of blog posts to get site traffic, you don’t. I managed to achieve these results with only 5 published blog posts.

Remember, it isn’t necessarily about how hard you work, but how smart you work!

I hope you got some value from this and I can’t wait for you to start seeing some good traction with your blog. If I can do this in less than 30 days using only one platform and some simple marketing knowledge, you can too!

Before I go, I just want to let you know about a little something that I have put together for you.

It is my FREE Instagram growth cheatsheet. If you liked this blog post and want to find out some more tried and true, tips and tricks, then you can download my FREE cheatsheet below.
